For sale: 1980 Airstream Caravelle 20 fully renovated. This is a very rare camper with a narrow body and dry weight of 2700 lbs. note this is different than the much more common Caravel which is either much older or much newer. Sleeps 4 without taking down the table. 40 gallon grey tank, composting toilet, 34 gallons of fresh water capacity, Newport Dickinson marine propane fireplace, 12V fridge with Danfoss compressor, 200 watts of solar on the roof with Sunsaver controller, and 2 golf cart batteries for 200AH of storage. Complete shell off renovation with torsion box construction featuring 1/8 aluminum floor on top, 3 foam and new aluminum belly pan resulting in a permanent floor solution that will never sag additional U channels between floor and belly pan for additional stability . Completely new aluminum interior with 13 panel front and rear sections. Cabinetry is built with riveted aluminum angle frames, lightweight Baltic birch plywood drawers, and cherry faces. All cabinetry built for lightweight and durability. Upper bunk bed is comfortable for kids up to teenage years although my 15 year old slept there some with minimal complaints. Upper bunk can be removed for more seating space. Lower bunk is comfortable for adults. Permanent full size bed 78 head to toe . Bathroom has C head composting toilet with urine diverted to grey tank through a Hepworth trap. Large shower area with pseudo wet bath configuration so that toilet and sink don t get wet. All drains use Hepvo valves. 4 gallon drinking water tank with separate hand pump for filling water bottles and ice cube trays. Wiring is all new using stranded wire. All wiring is run through plastic conduit inside of walls with access points throughout interior. All lighting is LED and uses multiple switches instead of dimmers to minimize battery usage. All plumbing is pex with compression couplings. 6 gallon Atwood Hot water heater. Zip Dee Awning still works great. The floor is insulated with 3" styrofoam and the walls are insulated with reflective plus additional foam insulation which keeps it very warm in winter.

Both fantastic fans have rain sensing and close automatically if it rains. Bathroom fan uses remote control while front fan is manual control. Exterior was sealed from the inside and repaired with buck rivet patches where needed.

The exterior was just professionally polished. All Airstreams before 1982 used the aluminum that allows for a mirror polish which is the look we all love. The exterior skin has some beauty marks especially the rear upper roof and there are random dings and small dents in different places as shown in the photos. The lower rub rail is all new and the belt line and lower rub rail tape was replaced with silver. The tape could easily be replaced with a different color for an accent. A VTS deadbolt was added for added security on the road suicide door and when away from the trailer.
